Joyce Griggs has been appointed as the Associate Dean of the Cleveland Institute of Music (CIM). She begins her new role on August 3, 2015.

Her passions to demonstrate and teach emerging artists how to develop and sustain a portfolio career have led her to this new opportunity at CIM. In addition to serving as the Associate Dean, Joyce will serve as a faculty member creating and delivering courses designed to assist students preparation for students to enter the ever-changing world of the arts.

CIM Dean, Adrian Daly, states “Ms. Griggs is a recognized leader in the field of music within higher education, who brings significant expertise, insight and abilities to CIM, and is ideally suited to this new role. This important and newly created position will focus on two key areas: professional development and student success. In addition she will provide support within the Deans’ Office for academic programs, curricular review and oversight of CIM’s International Exchange Program. Ms. Griggs will also be responsible for creating and teaching courses related to career and professional development, building on part of her current role at UIUC. Ms. Griggs’ leadership in these areas will provide significant support, guidance and direction to our students.”

Joyce and her husband Michael Holmes look forward to moving to Cleveland and embarking on this new opportunity.
